SkillsetGives, SkillsetGroup's non-profit, aims to build on its fundraising success coming out of 2022 with its second annual charity golf tournament in August. We will be supporting local charity partners to provide higher education scholarships to local graduates and U.S. military veteran communities. All in the aim of striving to end homelessness from the roots up.
This year's event is sure to have attendees pleased. With a more challenging course, tons of refreshments provided, complimentary amenities and contests. SkillsetGives is upgrading the experience for its golfers this year in a major way.

The lush, idyllic course at California Country Club in Whittier will host the 2023 SkillsetGives Annual Charity Golf Tournament on August 18th. Registration begins at 6 a.m for the 7 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament will be in scramble format. Tickets are $200 for single golfers and $800 for foursomes.
“Our goal with SkillsetGives is building thriving communities to end homelessness,” said the nonprofit’s founder, Clint Armstrong. “We grossed $30,000 from our tournament last year, and that money is even now paying for need-based scholarships and supporting local vets. These investments yield exponential returns in creating opportunities for underserved communities.”
With last year’s generous donations from the L.A. business community, SkillsetGives was able to put more than $15,000 to work building thriving communities. SkillsetGives believes strong communities and economic opportunity form society’s best chance to combat the poverty that can lead to homelessness.
SkillsetGroup CMO Jose Baca, a lifelong Paramount resident who rose from a working-class background to his current position as successful corporate executive. He presented $5,000 from the 2022 tournament to the Paramount Education Partnership. This money helps under-resourced graduates of the Paramount USD pursue higher education.
Thousands more went to support the veterans’ golf-centered support group 42mm, and to bring Central LA kids free Easter Baskets at SkillsetGroup’s Paramount office over Easter weekend. The rest is reinvested in raising more funds in 2023.
