Flor Rios, one of our most successful sales executives at SkillsetGroup, has six simple words of advice for those who’d like to follow her footsteps: “The fortune is in the follow-up.”
“You can do 100 drop-offs of sales and marketing material, but if you don’t follow up, no one is going to sign on with you,” she said. “These people get marketing material from vendors all the time.”
Flor started in 2018 as a recruiter, where she spent three years staffing for our clients, learning the SkillsetGroup business model and absorbing wisdom from her supervisors and company executives.
“I was ready for the next step in my career,” Rios said on her decision to step into a sales role. “SkillsetGroup gives you the tools to be successful.”
Rios said the biggest challenge was the need for self-direction, but she had the management support necessary for success.
“You have to be consistent and be organized; create a schedule for yourself,” she said. “If it weren’t for Jose and Clint, I wouldn’t have had the confidence. Now, we have Dennis as Sales VP, and it’s a great system for supporting growth and mentorship.”
What’s next for Rios in her SkillsetGroup career? She’s aiming for the stars in building her book of business.
“I definitely want to keep growing in my role and hit the million-dollar mark with my own sales,” she said.
