POSITION: | Production Planner |
SUMMARY: Organize production according to demand and quality standards. Ensure products are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

- Coordinate production workflow for all products.
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
- Communicate needs of materials such as boxes or bags to buyer to ensure they are ordered and delivered when needed
- Assign priority to different work centers within thermoforming and extrusion.
- Schedule the different jobs for thermoforming and extrusion, based on customer orders and forecasts.
- Communicate production schedule with production team and ensure it is being followed
- Maintain customer forecasts to help determine quantities for production runs
- Maintain and update “shortage report” to communicate expected completion times of customer orders to customer service and sales representatives
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports
- Keep paperwork organized
- Perform physical inventories of necessary items (boxes, rolls, bags, etc.) needed to complete scheduled production runs, as necessary.
- Create, maintain and or update Bills of Materials (BOMS) to ensure all material usages are correctly deducted in the system, as necessary.

Work with: All employees in or related to the production areas
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must:
- Proven experience as production planner
- Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
- Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)
- Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (IQMS)
- Good at math and statistics
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of commitment and urgency
- Excellent communication abilities
- High school diploma; Further education or certification is preferred
